Ancient egyptians

Unlike most of the people of the ancient Mediterranean, the Egyptians did not wear just one or two big pieces of cloth wrapped around themselves in various ways. Instead, both men and women in Egypt wore tunics which were sewn to fit them. Most Egyptians do not seem to have covered their hands with any kind of cloth. Men who were working outside usually were short skirts instead of tunics, which may have been made as Western Asia by winding a piece of cloth around your waist and legs. Noblewomen sometimes were beaded dress.
Clothes were usually made of linens ranging from coarse of line texture.
Clothing styles were chosen for comfort in the hot, dry climate of Egypt.
People usually went barefoot and carried their sandals. The sandals were made of palm fiber or braided papyrus.
Clothes of wealthy: men or women were long see- through robes that were pleated; wealthy people did not wear more jewelry or fancier clothes to show wealth. They did wear gold jewelry and the most transparent clothes.
Priest’s clothing: Priests could not wear leather sandals or wool clothing, they wore a leopard robe.
Everyone in ancient Egypt wore some type of jewelry. Rings and amulets were especially worn to ward off the evil spirits and injury. Both men and women wore pierced earrings, armlets, bracelets, and anklets.
The rich wore jeweled or beaded collars, necklaces, and pendants. For the rich, jewelry was made of gold, silver or gold mixed with silver and inlaid with a deep blue stone semi- precious stones of turquoise.
Ordinary people wore necklaces made of brightly colored pottery beads.
