Euthanasia

What is euthanasia? The term euthanasia comes from the Greek words Eu (meaning easy, happy or good) and Thantos (meaning death), translated literally as good death. This referred to a person's spiritual state at death, not physical. Today, euthanasia refers to what is called "mercy killing" - the intentional killing by act or omission of a dependent human being for his or her so-called benefit. There are various ways of euthanasia, such as assisted suicide, euthanasia by action, or euthanasia by omission, etc... It’s not about the way. Euthanasia is not a right to die, but a rejection of the importance and value of human life. I strongly believe that it shouldn’t be legalized. Let me tell some arguments against euthanasia.
My first argument is that Euthanasia will become non-voluntary. Emotional and psychological pressures could become overpowering for depressed or dependent people. If the choice of euthanasia is considered as good as a decision to receive care, many people will feel guilty for not choosing death. Financial considerations, added to the concern about "being a burden," serve as powerful forces that would lead a person to "choose" euthanasia or assisted suicide.
What is more, people for euthanasia say that voluntary euthanasia will not lead to involuntary euthanasia. In real life there would be millions of situations each year where cases would not fall clearly into either category. For example, an elderly person in a nursing home, who can barely understand a breakfast menu, is asked to sign a form agreeable to be killed. Is this voluntary or involuntary? Will they be protected by the law? How? Right now the overall prohibition on killing stands in the way. Legalized euthanasia would most likely progress to the stage where people, at a certain point, would be expected to volunteer to be killed.
